Spray Painting

Spray Painting is a highly specialist skill which is mostly used in a warehouse environment. There is a fine line between painting with rollers and brushes and airless spray painting due to the amount of masking and covering up of glass etc, but we advise at the time of the free site survey which is the best method and most cost effective for your painting and decorating requirements. abk offer Spray Painting services across Slough, High Wycombe & Oxford in addition to their surrounding areas.

Spray painting can be done in any colour and any finish and we can even spray floors. Please note, due to ‘over spray’, it is more difficult to spray paint outside but can be done in certain environments.

Our own airless spray guns and equipment are provided free of charge so along with our own two cherry pickers and nine towers we are able to provide very competitive spray painting prices as there will be no hire charges incurred.

Floor Painting & Shot Blasting

Floor painting is probably one of the hardest forms of painting within our trade and must be carried out to an exact specification. We supply Floor Painting & Shot Blasting services throughout Oxford, Slough & High Wycombe.

Correct preparation and testing is vital for coating floor areas: in some cases vacuum shot blasting or scarifying may be required. A lot will depend on what the floor is being used for eg fork lifts and if so, what type of forklift. All of this information will need to be considered as this will be dependent on what type of paint is used.

To ensure adhesion properties of the existing floor will be strong enough to receive further coatings, we have specialist testing equipment to ensure the floor will not fail on completion. Skilled application is then essential to ensure the life expectancy of the coating specified. All types of floors can be painted, for example in warehouses, workshops and garages, and the paint is available in all colours.

abk painters & decorators use Tikkurila (Valtti) paints along with many others depending on survey results. We can add aggregate to some floor paints to give it a non slip surface to follow health and safety regulations if required.

Fire Protection Paints

For fire safety requirements, preparation and application of fire protection paints and coatings are applied to structural steelwork, timber and cabling to provide from half hour to one hour protection to these materials.

Fire protection paints can be applied by airless spraying or by brush and have fast drying times, They are also available in a full range of colours and achieve a high quality durable finish.

We can also provide a conformity certificate from our supplier, confirming that correct materials have been applied to correct micron thickness which can then be sent to a local authority or architect.

Our specialist painters and decorators carried out a huge project to the South Stand at Wycombe Wanderers Football ground. Fire protection paints in different finishes were applied to many surfaces, including walls, ceilings, woodwork and metalwork.

Anti Graffiti Paints

Anti-graffiti paints are applied in a stage process system. This consists of a sealer, primer and finish and is used where areas are exposed to repeated graffiti. It withstands frequent while maintaining a decorative finish. The finish coat is available in a wide range of colours.

Graffiti remover is also part of the anti-graffiti system we use as painting contractors, It is a labour saving, cost effective way to remove graffiti from areas exposed to repeated vandalism.

ECO Painting

As an alternative to other paints, we offer an Eco Painting service that we supply throughout Oxford, Slough, High Wycombe and their surrounding cities and towns.

We feel that environmental issues should be considered, so we have made sure that we are in a position to recommend certain products and finishes from nearly all the paint suppliers available.

Along with using ECO painting products we are trained in the application of an Environmental Wash System and Paint Solidifier within our Dulux Trade Contract Partnership association where together we will take a step towards greener painting and decorating.

On larger ECO painting contracts we use a Dulux ES450 wash system or ES160 (see datasheets link below), to enable us to wash out rollers, brushes, spray guns and other equipment without polluting the environment.

On many contracts we leave remaining paints on site for touching up but on occasions when we are asked to remove the paint from site, we use Dulux Paint system Solidifier which when mixed into leftover paint in tins creates a solid mass which can then be safely disposed of. Once paint is removed from the tin we then use the Dulux Decorator Centre can recycling service.
